Marc Liebeskind spent more than 4 years in India studying and playing Hindustany music. During this time Marc designed a unique sitar guitar (Sit-Guitar) with which he creates and plays his own compositions based on “ragas”; pieces with multiple developments and rich sounds tinged with oriental atmospheres of blues and jazz.
The 16-string ‘sit-guitar’, with 8 resonant strings and 2 “chicari” strings attached to the body of a standard guitar, creates a range of possibilities of styles and sounds, it is particularly suitable in expressing Indian sounds and for indian playing techniques.
Marc Liebeskind met Sukhdev Mishra and Na bankur Bhattacharia in 2002. He played with them during many years.
